Jon Armstrong, the owner of JW's Woodworking, was born and raised in Lancaster. A graduate of J.P. McCasky and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, he has had an interest in woodworking since his teens when he worked at DelMarVa Millwork.
He has been employed in sales and marketing at Warren Weaver Real Estate and Congoleum Corporation as a Regional Sales Manager for the southeast U.S. He owned his own photography business specializing in wedding and children's photography for 20 plus years in the Atlanta area.
For the past 15 years he has worked for State Farm insurance as an office and sales manager.
He is married to his childhood sweetheart, Ellen, for 12 years after having been out of touch for over 35 years and a little internet searching. They have two daughters and three grandchildren. They live in Hamilton Park, Lancaster Township.
He has been working with wood and making furniture for over 30 years and is looking for to retiring from the insurance business and spending full time on his woodworking business.
He specializing in wood turning-- pepper grinders, bowls, segmented bowls, custom made tables, blanket chests with hand cut dovetails, and cutting boards.
